Thankfully, the dealer has some additional rules to follow. One of them is that the dealer/computer has to pick cards as long as his cards show a minimum of 17 points. When To Stand?

This is one of the most asked questions. But to determine when to stand is not as hard as it looks on the first view. Follow the rules, depending to the player´s hand and the dealer's first card.

1. If the hand shows 17 or more, stand in every case. (Although some „paid systems“ tell you to quit if the dealer shows an ace.)
2. If the dealer's first card is six or lower and your own cards show 13 or more points in sum, then also Stand.
3. When you have a pair of tens or first cards which could be splitted, don´t split them, still Stand.

When To Double

To double the bet is an often used strategy if the player's hand exactly shows nine, ten or eleven points. This gives the player a good chance to get 19 or 20 with a 10 or Face card. With the help of the below mentioned rules it is easy to determine if it is worth to Double the hand. Like the „When to stand“ strategy, these steps are also depending on the total of player´s and the dealer's face up cards.

1. Always double a total of 10 unless the dealer has 10 or Ace.
2. Always double an 11 unless the dealer has an Ace.
3. 9 should only be doubled when the dealer has 3, 4, 5 or 6 showing.
